More often than not, I laugh at my own jokes.
I will fight the man who thinks freshly laundered sheets aren’t the best thing since sliced bread, and marry the man who does the laundry and makes the bread (and the bed) so I don’t have to.
I work with TouchWood Editions and Brindle & Glass in BC as marketing and publicity coordinator, and I still get goose bumps every time I open a box of new books. I hold a Master’s degree in Publishing from Simon Fraser University, a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Lethbridge, a host of embarrassing memories from my high school in rural Manitoba, and a pretty awesome Christmas ornament I made in elementary, if I do say so myself.
Previous to my acceptance into the MPub I was a reporter for the Virden Empire-Advance in Manitoba, where I wrote stories about a man who had literally walked around the world, and a monthly pancake breakfast hosted by the same organization and attended by the same people every time, among other things.
I love my chosen industry and am extremely grateful that I am able to work with books every day. I have a terrible case of wanderlust, a huge pile of books to be read, and a pretty serious addiction to Netflix. I sing in the shower, dance when I do my dishes, and have a list of at least seven hilarious pet names for pets I do not have.
I cannot keep plants alive, but I wish I could. I do not speak Spanish, but I know people who do.
