The Gum Thief by Douglas Coupland
A novel about dialogue wherein no conversation is ever held. Genius.
-

Exploration of the love and bonds between mothers and daughters the world over, spanning continents, countries, cultures, ethnicities, adoption and biology

Sizzling Sixteen by Janet Evanovich
Grandma Mazur is my favourite. Edit: I’ve read every Stephanie Plum book because they’re hilarious and a great way to pass two hours. I’ve also read her Wicked series and Barnaby & Hooker series. I recommend them all.

Half Broke Horses by Jeannette Walls
Her grandma reminds me of my own… strong, resourceful, a good shot and a horse woman. Loved it.
-
Running with Scissors by Augusten Burroughs
Hilarious, twisted, shocking, and totally worth it. The movie was less impressive.
-
The Addams Family
Classic from my childhood. Holds up well. Comedic gold over twenty years later. Let your kids watch it. Watch it with them.
-
In the Skin of a Lion by Michael Ondaatje
My first encounter with Ondaatje. Poetic language, almost too many voices. I loved it.

Look Me In the Eye by John Elder Robison
Brother of Augusten Burroughs. He tells a much different story of their family than his younger brother. A very interesting read on how children with Aspergers lived and were treated before Aspergers was a diagnosis. Recommended.

Finger Lickin’ Fifteen by Janet Evanovich
Just read the whole series. This one is no better than the rest and it’s hilarious.
