The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson
Hilarious; scandalous and hopeful. The movie is on Canadian Netflix right now. It adheres pretty closely to the book, but it is decidedly less awesome than the book. Watch it only if you want to read subtitles for 85% of the movie.

The Silver Star by Jeannette Walls
The Glass Castle is my favourite book. It’s astonishing. This book is quite good—definitely recommended—but nothing she will ever write will be as good as her first.
-
The Girl You Left Behind by Jojo Moyes
Stunning and captivating. This woman is an incredible storyteller.
-
The Thrill of Victory by Sandra Brown
Terrible. Not even worth the 1.5 hours I spent reading it. She can do so much better.
-
Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
If this is what it feels like to be in love at sixteen, I’m glad I skipped it and heartbroken that I missed it.
-
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
Definitely not the story I thought it was—pop culture had given me false expectations. Nonetheless, I enjoyed it very much.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1
Better than the first two movies. The ending was a good place to split the book.
